Welcome to the Prom Coast News
The Prom Coast News is an independent community published newspaper covering the South Gippsland townships of Meeniyan, Stony Creek, Buffalo, Fish Creek, Foster, Port Franklin, Toora, Port Welshpool, Welshpool, Yanakie, Tidal River, Waratah Bay, Sandy Point, Walkerville, Tarwin Lower and Venus Bay.
We aim to provide a fair and balanced source of local and regional news, a place for our local businesses and tradespeople to promote themselves, and a way for us to celebrate and recognise our community groups and sportspeople.
We look forward to receiving your letters, articles, community notices, snippets and photos and of course advertisements! We hope that we will become a trusted and respected resource for our locals, visitors, potential visitors and those looking to make this wonderful region their home for business and pleasure.
While we will be publishing a monthly edition of the Prom Coast News for the remainder of 2024, we aim to move to publishing weekly in 2025.
The paper will be available in hard copy from local retailers across the region and also through online subscription.
The Prom Coast News is run by a group of volunteers and the start-up has been funded through very generous donations and intellectual support and advice from many in the industry.
