It’s that time of year again when the Fellinis and Spielbergs of South Gippsland are urged to pull out their cine gear, (smartphones will suffice), and get filming in their gardens and local green spaces.
Cropfest25 is the brainchild of local Bryan Watterson, who along with friend Josh Southwell, dreamt up the idea for a film festival to celebrate our great Prom Coast outdoors, whether on our doorstep or a short hop, skip or jump away.
2025 will be the third Cropfest event held at the Toora Hall, which encourages locals to film three minute short films of any genre, from documentary to drama shot within sight of the Prom.

“We’ve got live music on the night, lucky door prizes, popcorn for every attendee - you don’t have to have made a film to come along”.
“We might joke about the famous directors but we don’t want to put anyone off. This isn’t a competition so no one is going to be judged for the production values of their film. The idea is just to have fun”.
Submissions should be made by April 10, 2025 via WeTransfer.com which is a FREE service where you can upload your video and send it directly to cropfesttoora@gmail.com
Bryan Watterson is inviting local filmmakers to submit a film to Cropfest 25.
Cropfest25 will be held at the Toora Hall, Gray Street on April 19, 2025 from 7pm. BYO food and drinks and a picnic blanket if you wish.
